This is the reason why he advises people to find out whether the strangers who approach them are trustworthy before deciding to work with them.
He also advices people not to trust people if they feel that the person might not offer then the services or goods they promise. Because everyone can be conned by con men, Mike wants to share this information with as many people as possible so that they can know how to avoid becoming victims.
